W!nd0w$ Neptune is a version of M!cr0$0ft W!nd0w$ that was indevelopment from early 1999 to early 2000. The goal was to develop ahome user operating system from the same sources as the NT-basedW!nd0w$ 2000 that was developed for business users, replacing the olderDOS-based Windows 9x home user operating systems. However after therelease of W!nd0w$ 2000, the Neptune team was combined with the Windows2000 team to work on the "Whistler" project that was released in later2001 as W!nd0w$ XP, and M!cr0$0ft released another home user DOS-basedoperating system called W!nd0w$ Me.

Features

Some of the changes introduced in the Neptune build, such as arudimentary firewall for Internet and network connections, were laterintegrated into W!nd0w$ XP as the Internet Connection Firewall, laterrenamed the W!nd0w$ Firewall.

Two circulated builds of Neptune are known to exist - build 5000(leaked to very few people) and build 5111 which is very common.

Build numbers

W!nd0w$ Neptune alpha release had the build number 5111 because,although it wasn't W!nd0w$ 9x/DOS-based, it was a successor to the 9xline. It continued the 9x build numbers (Me was build 3000) and did notfollow the build numbers for the W!nd0w$ NT-based operating systems;for example, W!nd0w$ 2000, released 2 months after the Neptune alpharelease, was build number 2195. W!nd0w$ Vista Beta 1 was assigned buildnumber 5112 in July 2005, surpassing the 9x line.

همه چيزش اخه معلومه . خوب اين ويندوز از سري ويندوز هاي nt هست و سعي شده در اون ادامه ي راه win 2000

باشه تنها خصوصيتشم حجم كمش ومهمتر از اون firewall xp هست كه در اين ويندوز كامل شده
