Last friday three overclockers have been able to seperately overclock an Intel Penryn processor past the 6.7 GHz barrier. All three used liquid nitrogen to cool the processor. The voltage, normally about 1.15 Volt, had to be increased to 1.9 V to perform a CPU-Z validation

Boblemagnifque and AndreYang reached the clockspeeds with an Intel Core 2 Duo E8600, while duck broke the 6.7GHz barrier with an E8500. The results have been posted on the XtremeSystems forum. Many processor-related benchmarks like SuperPi and PiFast are now being broken by highly overclocked Intel Penryn processors in combination with DDR3 memory. The question however is whether or not the overclockers will be able to break 7 GHz, before they break their processors.

AMD is launching today a bunch of new "business class" 64-bit processors. The four new Phenom and Athlon CPUs are:

Among the other hardware demonstrated at IDF, Hynix Semiconductor also made a shocking release of what's believed to be the world's first 16GB 2-Rank R-DIMM. Using MetaRAM's new DDR3 technology, Hynix’s new 16GB (HMT32GR7AER4C-GD) and 8GB (HMT31GR7AER4C-GC) 2-rank DIMMs can triple DDR3 memory capacity in today's servers and workstations. DDR3 MetaRAM is similar to the previous generation of DDR2 technology that enables significantly more memory in a server. An added benefit of the DDR3 MetaRAM technology is that enables larger memory capacity without negatively impacting the operating frequency of the DDR3 memory channel. It is the only technology that has been demonstrated to run 24GB of DDR3 SDRAM in a channel at 1066 million transactions per-second (MT/s). Using 3 of 16GB DIMM, users can achieve 48GB per channel running at 1066 MT/s, while other competing solutions max out at 16GB per channel at 1066MT/s. Later on during the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) in San Francisco Intel will demonstrate a server with 160GB (10 slots) of Hynix's DDR3 R-DIMMs.

بنده شخصا معتقدم که کیفیت رو به تنهایی نمیشه ملاک قرار داد و کارایی زمانی معنا پیدا میکنه که کالا از قیمت معقولی هم به نسبت کیفیت و کاراییش برخوردار باشه والبه گارانتی معتبر و پاسخگو و نظر شخصی خودم درباره بازار ایران فعلا برند پتریوت رو بیشتر از سایر برنده ها قبول دارم چون فاکتور نسبت کارایی-قیمت رو بیشتر رعایت کرده.

In the opinion of memory market participants , DDR-3 will be inferior to DDR-4 in 2012, but to those times DDR3 will increase its frequencies and decrease its energy consumption. Last goal will be reached with the passage to the lower default voltage - DDR3L memory modules will be satisfied by the supply voltage 1.2-1.35 v instead of present 1.5 v.

As reports associate, on IDF 2008 , qimonda company reported about its plans with respect to the passage from DDR-3 to DDR-4. First , all DDR3-1066/1333 modules introduction with the lowered to 1.35 v supply voltage are planned in 2009.

DDR3-1333 Modules with that lowered to 1.35 v default voltage will begin appear in 2010. Directly DDR-4 will appear in 2012 from the DDR4-2133 modules with the default voltage 1.2 v. In a year the DDR-4 frequency will rise to 2667 MHz DDR, and the voltage can be lowered to 1.0 V.

We had a chance to take a picture of a fully operational Nehalem, Bloomfield sample at 3.2GHz. We managed to take the picture from both sides and we can tell that the chip looks pretty much like any other Intel chip.

The socket 1366 has pins while the CPU doesn't. This baby will be known as Core i7.

Senior DIYers may still remember SiS (Silicon Integrated Systems), some of you may still own a mobo with SiS chipset.

already reported at the end of past month that during the first days of September AMD will lower the prices of its desktop processors.

Let us note that the prices reductions of elder models phenom X4 proved to be even more generous, which as it was expected is up to 26%. Furthermore, other processors models fell in price to the value from 9% to 24%. The dual core processors athlon X2 5800+ was removed just like processors with rating lower than 5000+.

و راستی بگم که:

بلاخرهE5200 صد دلاری هم عرضه شد

که هسته اش از خانواده Wolfdale و از تکنولوژی ساخت 45nm بهره می برد در واقع همون سری E2000 که این تفاوت ها رو کرده و

که روی فرکانس 2.5Ghz کار می کنه و FSB 800 مگاهرتز و 2 مگابایت هم کش سطح2 داره

در مورد اورکلاک E5200 من تا فرکانس 5.0 گیگاهرتز را دیده بودم ولی هر چی گشتم عکس شو بزارم

Last week Team Group Inc. has launched two new DDR3 modules under its Xtreem series. Like most manufacturers do, every brand has a name for its high-end products, Dominator for Corsair, Ballistix for Crucial and so on. Team Group has decided to name its high-performance DDR3 parts "Overclocking Heroic Duo". The two new Heroic Duos are the Xtreem DDR3-2000 and DDR3-1800 available both as single modules or in matched dual-channel kits. The modules feature premium 8-layer PCB design, 128x8 chips in BGA package and special black aluminum TeamXtreem heatsinks. More importantly, the Xtreem DDR3-2000 operates at 9-9-9-24 (tCL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS) timings at only 1.9V. The Xtreem DDR3-1800 uses a timing parameter of 8-8-8-24, and optimal performance is also obtainable at 1.9V. In terms of capacity, besides in 4GB (2x2GB) and 2GB (2x1GB) kits, Team Group also sells single 1GB and 2GB modules. Before shipping to customers every Overclocking Heroic Duo module passes burn-in test for at least 24 hours on a wide range of overclocking platforms made by ASUS and GIGABYTE to ensure maximum compatibility. Both models are also equipped with built-in EPP (Enhance performance profiles) and XMP (Extreme memory profiles). The processors are based on the Nehalem-derived Bloomfield core, and require a compatible motherboard with the 1366-pin land grid array (LGA) socket.
