has a PCIe 2.0 x16 slot, a PCIe x1 slot and two PCI slots. Around the back you’ll find two PS/2 ports, a D-sub, a serial port, a DVI port, four USB 2.0 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet jack and 7.1-channel audio jacks, but we’re missing an HDMI port.

Interestingly it seems like Nvidia has decided to go with a dual channel memory controller this time on its Intel IGP chipset and the Geforce 9300 supports up to 8GB of memory. The GPU does of course support DirectX 10.

On their own, these motherboards don't appear to be much different than current generation motherboards be it for AMD or Intel platforms. You will notice that the abit and ASUS motherboards only have three memory slots - a result of the three channel memory controller on the Nehalem processor. The other motherboards however have four slots - a mystery that I haven't quite unraveled.

The processor socket is similar to that of the LGA775 in its design - the CPUs will remain pin-less with a ZIF-style retention configuration. Almost all of the motherboards have four PCIe slots on it, theoretically for some serious multi-GPU action.

Intel did have a Nehalem system on hand to prove it was working - they were demoing Assassin's Creed on it. There were no details on the CPU frequency or anything like that, but there WAS an NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 in the box...

Actually, video card with 225-300 W consumption energy level have the complete right to use higher cooler than the present two-slot solutions. But what about multi-chip configurations? . Video card in the future can use an external case, connected to the computer on the external PCI express version .

There are eight chipsets , some without built-in graphic core (interesting to computer gamer) , who desire to get a relatively inexpensive gaming system with NVIDIA SLI support

The crew over at Tom's Hardware is taking an exclusive look at a fully assembled Nehalem system that consists of a FOXCONN X58 motherboard and a Nehalem CPU. Details on the platform and the new architecture are already well detailed so I'll skip them. It's the motherboard that's cool and worth looking. That's FOXCONN's reference board powered by Intel's X58 chipset and ICH10-R southbridge, the same used on today's Intel P45 platforms. ICH-10 supplies up to four PCI Express x16 paths, of which two, are PCI Express 2.0. FOXCONN's Renaissance board also allows up to 24GB of DDR3 memory to be installed on 6 slots. With Nehalem, the memory is running in triple-channel mode (the name is pretty self explanatory). Initially the motherboard will support DDR3-800, 1066 and 1333 configurations. The Renaissance also has six SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, Realtek ALC888S 7.1 channel audio and a Gigabit Ethernet. Speaking to the other motherboard features, they include the usual heatpipe cooling for the chipset, solid ultra-low SR capacitors, debugging LED lights, clear CMOS button round the backplate and a six-phase power circuit design. Expect benchmarks and price information when the official launch date of Nehalem approaches.

According to foxconn representatives , this last stopped the release of motherboard dreadnought on base of nForce 790i SLI . It was considered that this motherboard will become the high end overclocker platform from Foxconn, after repeating the success of mars and Black ops motherboards.

Note that the motherboard destroyer on base of nForce 780a SLI with AMD processors support will be released soon, its announcement was detained only due to the need for processing the micro-code. NVIDIA representatives reported that the problems with foxconn motherboard hardly refer to chipset.

In this case NVIDIA recognize that gigabyte company in June encountered some problems with the compatibility of processors and motherboards on the base of nForce 790i SLI chipset.

DFI Details LANParty JR P45-T2RS and LANParty JR 790GX-M2RS Micro-ATX Motherboards

DFI has let loose details on its latest Intel and AMD motherboards, meant to fit in micro-ATX systems. LANParty JR P45-T2RS runs on Intel's last mainstream P45 chipset whereas LANParty JR 790GX-M2RS is powered from AMD's 790GX chipset and SB750 southbridge. Both mainboards pack a great number of extras, featuring dual x16 slots for SLI/CrossFire support depending on the platform, Digital PWM, all-solid capacitors (presented in LANParty JR P45-T2RS only), copper heatpipe chipset cooling and other neat stuff like 12 USB ports, 8 channel audio, Genie BIOS and CMOS Reload. With so much oumph, these two fellows will be greatly accepted in high-performance HTPC systems or in compact cases made for LanParty events. Pricing and availability of both motherboards are still kept in secret.

MSI Launches a Fleet of AMD 790 GX Motherboards, Sideport Meets DDR3

Micro-Star International (MSI), the world's third-largest mainboard manufacturer, will officially promote its latest high C/P value mainboard series - DKA790GX. The mainboard series utilizes AMD's latest 790GX/SB750 chipsets which provides full HD, best-in-class 3D graphics performance, enhanced scalability, and "Rock-Solid Stability" for mainstream gaming, multimedia and commercial PC systems.

Considering Nehalem will hit shelves in the next half year, the 4 series chipsets will become a short life product. However, Intel will as well introduce a new 4 series chipset for medium and small enterprises, that’s B43.

B43 doesn’t belong to the Q series, it won’t contain some entertainment elements. It support up to 1333MHz FSB and DDR-800/DDR3-1066 memory. Intel said B43 will integrate a DX10 compatible graphics chip. We don’t know whether it’s GMA X4500 which the G series contain, but it will support DisplayPort, DVI and VGA ports.

The B43 will comes with a ICH10D southbridge in Q1 2009.

ASUS Company prepared the motherboard P6T series, which is based Intel x58 chipset and designed for work with contemporary processors core i7 (Nehalem).

This products series is created for demanding users, since it promises high productivity . Intel X58+ICH10R, support 36 lines PCI-Express 2.0, which allow to install 4 video cards . Furthermore, this chipset supporte the new processors intel nehalem - 1366- CPU bloomfield, which have high frequency - up to 3,2 GHz.

High performance will be improved with the built-in memory controller , which supports DDR3-1333 memory with capacity up to 25,6 GB/s. ASUS P6T deluxe support also SAS technology (Serial attached SCSI) . The latter will allow users to connect SAS disks with high perforance (in PC mark test SAS-HDD are faster than SATA- analogs by upto 39% in the regime RAID 0) .

Furthermore, P6T deluxe has 16- phase power-supply system .

MSI has launched its first 790GX motherboard, the DKA790GX Platinum, and we had a chance to snap a picture of it during MSI's event in Belgrade last Friday.

It features 2 PCIe x16 slots, one of which is x8 electrically, 2 PCIe x1 slots, 2PCI slots, MSI's DrMOS and a heatpipe cooler. On the back side it packs a plethora of connectors, VGA, DVI, HDMI, 6xUSB 2.0, Firewire, LAN, eSATA and 7.1 audio. There are six more internal USBs, as well as a Firewire connector, 5x SATA II RAID 0/1/0+1/5 (SB750), 1x PATA, 1x Floppy and three fan connectors.

It packs Radeon HD 3300 graphics, the fastest IGP currently available, supports Hybrid CrossFire and CrossFireX (x8/x8). The DKA790GX Platinum isn't available yet but it should retail at 130+ euro, which doesn't sound very cheap considering the pricing of other 790GX boards on the market.
